Yesterday, I
was determined to maybe go on a run because I haven’t gone on the weekends at
all anymore and I don’t know why. Also, I was going to go snorkeling, but
didn’t cause I don’t know why. Well, woke up, and it was really nice out. I got
something to eat, but since I had absolutely no fod except some eggs and wheat
barley, I had some of that. It was not satisfying. Chelsea encouraged me to
never stay in my room on my computer and instead get into town. That is exactly
what I did. I took some school work with no plan except sit somewhere and try
to get some work done.
Laura, the girl I met the first day
of school in the running club gave me a bike. I used to and went to the city.
On the way, I saw a group of people in front of this huge hotel. There was a
coach bus that said, Irish Rugby Team. I was thinking maybe this was serious.
So I joined the crowd and sat on the sidewalk and waited for them to come out.
It was really cool, I felt like a true Dubliner. Then, I went to a café, just
like I thought would be perfect to listen to people and people watch while
drinking tea and eating a croissant like a true Dubliner. So, I got myself some
hot water (to make my own tea) and a croissant. Luckily, there were some old
ghezzars playing the saxophone and the piano. They were so cute and I was
sitting there listening to my jazz. I was thinking to do some work, but then I
wanted to keep going around but had no idea what to do. So, I went to my
favorite place: Little Ass Burrito Bar. They have the best Mexican food! I love
it and the people I have met there are so nice, everytime! So, I got myself a
burrito box without the burrito. I finished it happy as Alfafa, my ears started
going and my hair started stickiest up. I wanted another, but they only take
cash and I couldn’t afford that.
I deceided to try another Mexican
joint, like my daddy calls it. Yep, I had 2 mexican lunches. So I went to the
next one that also just opened on the same street. It didn’t look as fresh but
the guy was excited and I like the logo, so I decided to try it out. Also, they
took credit card. Honestly, I really didn’t like it as much…They had mozzarella
cheese where the other had Feta and you could totally tell. There guac was good
here though. I think that was the only thing though. While I was eating, I
wanted to watch the Rugby game but I didn’t know if I should walk into a pub
with food, a hat, a backpack, and looking like a true tourist. I thought that
might be a bad idea. Also, because I wouldn’t plan on buying a drink. The guy
at Tuzo (The Mexican place) was playing the game on his IPad. I watched with
him and he told me everything that was going on. I really enjoyed it because I
felt like I was watching it with Daddy and I missed that. So, good Sunday I
would say. I did some homework during this. I also like the fact that the Rugby
games are 2 40 minute halves so you know its going to last only about an hour
and a half…no longer. Its not like football-like the Superbowl that was about
to happen for like 3 hours starting at 1130 PM. WTF.
So, I left and just wandered around.
Went into little shops. And I really needed food for mi casa. Also, I wanted
froyo but when you ask for something like that, they can tell youre American. I
got some food, shoved it in my backpack which was HUGE and then had an extra
bag. I went to an upstairs Starbucks where I tried people watching on Grafton
Street/St Peter’s Green which is the main street and where all the shops are
and everything happens. I could only take so much of that. I had some yogurt
and then it closed. I didn’t know what else to do and no one was coming untile
like 830 or 9 for the Super Bowl. I was already tired and didn’t know how I was
going to walk into this bar like a complete tourist, so I thought, maybe I
should attempt dropping off everything at home and then head back.
So my bike situation is great! I
save money by not having to use the bus and I can stop whenever to get more
food, where I know its cheap. However, I cant reach the ground so whenever I
stop, I have to get off and then whenever I start I have to do like a running
start. That gets tricky with 20 pounds of food on your back, in the dark,
without a helmet and no idea how to get home. So, yes I got lost. But it was
fun because I definitely go to explore and I LOVE doing that and found places I
would hope to go out later. Luckily, there is little crime here. Once I got
home, I felt so great that I got lost and happy. Got in my room, and didn’t
want to leave. Also, I cannot picture myself watching that game, unfortunately.
It really meant nothing to me. I could understand people wondering why I didn’t
watch the Cuse vs Duke game the night before, which I should’ve but I really
don’t know why, but the things that go with watching games don’t appetize me.
So, when the game started, at 1130 PM, I went to bed! Haha loved it J My roommate is from Washington and said she watched it until 4 and then
walked home alone because she didn’t have money for a cab. She needs it. But
literally, the only thing I hear out of her mouth is how she cant afford
anything and its annoying. Whatevaaaaaaaaaa Im glad she was happy last night!

9 AM…will my professor come? His
wife is due with a kid. And, he does. I really didn’t want to go to class, but
I had to because that was the reason for not going to the game last night. The
rain was pouring a the wind was blowing everywhere. Came back and took a nap
for my next class. Class, lunch, watched some gymasntics, and then another
class. That was actually a fun class. A group had to give a presentation and we
are graded on participation of the debate for their group, which Im good at.
Even if my Soanish is awful.
Came home to find myself locked out
and not about to pay 3 euro to get it opened so I waited. Jenn (my roommate)
saved my butt, I am starting to like her. Went on a run, I knew it would stop
raining because this is Dublin, and then insanity. I even did some Yoga with
Jillian Michaels! I think I am going to start doing it in the mornings. I want
muscle and I think I need a hobby. Now Im chilling on my floor. I think I am
going to make my room zen? Eh?
I made the famous soup I love from my great grandma. Once I did that, it felt like everything fell into place. Except this stupid dates to do trips. Chelsea is on it though, I didn’t realize how much she likes it but great!!!! J

This morning I wanted to maybe think
about getting up an hour or so before class to do some Jillian Michaels yoga.
After peeing all night, and thanking life for not having an 8 AM like usual, I
thought I should sleep in. When I actually woke up for class, it was still just
as hard, but the sun was out and the day was so splendid! It was the first day
I have ever seen like this. It felt like spring and it felt like the first time
I have ever experience it in my life. I went to class and thought maybe I
should go on a run now because we all know the weather here is like having all
4 seasons with monsoons in one day. So I didn’t but I really wanted to go and
do something to experience Ireland like Chelsea always says I don’t, but I do.
So, I took the bike that Laura gave me and, of course, went food shopping. But
this time I went to the place, Lidl that Laura took me last Sunday where she
said there is cheaper food and it’s by her house in Dundrum. I went there and
got celery and cabbage for 39 cents to make my soup. And then kept going in my tourist
looking butt to the mall. I wanted to go to the Tesco there to get my beans.
Yummmm beans. And those are only 21 cents. Holy crap am I good or what?! So I
did that and then got some hot water and put in my free tea and just watched
people in a food court. As I quickly noticed a big rain cloud and then thought,
I have to ride my bicicleta home!! Ahhh I didn’t want to get stuck in it
because the rain here, which is really often, isn’t always too bad, but the
wind is AWFUL! So, I headed back. I am telling you, riding this bike is
dangerous because I can’t reach the ground and I have like 20 pounds on my
back. So I turned onto a road and then there was a car pulling out of some
street and I was on the wrong side because they drive on opposite sides as MY
usual and he pulled out and didn’t see me. It was my fault I just couldn’t stop.
So I stopped and tried to hit the ground but instead fell over and into a mud
pile. At least it was a mud pile because it was really soft. And I found out that
it is really easy to get off of clothes.
I forgot, I also stopped at a pet
store, Equipet. Chelsea said I had to write this in my journal so I will just
copy and paste the convo I had with her.
I went to a dog store today
Yea?
Congrats! Royal canin?
you should really do more with this
Ohmmmmm. Trust. I would love to export more
um, no. but so i walked in and i was like hey, so
do you ever get in stuff from the States?
and she was like not really, what are you looking
for?
But we aint till we move. When are we moving? Like,
umm, never.
and i was like...Evanger's. and she was like well,
you probably wont find that in Ireland but ive seen it around before and blah
blah
Omg!!! Cool!!!!
Write that in your blog yo!
but she was like telling me how its expensive for
transport and stuff but she did say that she new it! which i just thought was
cool
Yea that's amazing for them to know a brand that is
hardly available in Europe!!
well, she said she worked in Maine for like a year
lmao
i think thats why
but yes
Oh damn. Buzzkill.
This was
exciting! Always keeping my Evanger’s in mind.
Anyways, got home and of course, my
roommate, Kaci, the fat one, was complaining that she didn’t do anything and
then she had softball. She is ALWAYS complaining. I have never met a person I
would rather not talk to so I just wouldn’t have to listen to her negativity.
I made some great 21 cent beans and
listened to her. And then made some soup, which I needed to cook longer but
wanted to go climbing with Ana and Karolina, but that didn’t happen because
they left and I was just all of the sudden not into it and really freaking
tired. I don’t know why. Like extremely. And then thought, I would go for a run
later but it was literally monsooning. So instead, I worked on my Spanish
presentation my group has to give on the 24th and I think I finished
it.
I also talked with Chelsea about
traveling. I didn’t know what she loves to do, planning trips and flights, is
what drives me bonkers!!!!!!!!! It was so great! We were going back and forth
so fast it was all just such happy times…like they say in Dublin, “happy times”,
or is it good times? I don’t know. Well, Chelsea is going to help me with
trips. She doesn’t know how much this is taking off my shoulders because it’s
literally why I don’t sleep. Ahhhh sleep. I would like that. OK night!
