A Day of fun and (Dublin) Games

Jan 31
Yesterday I had class from 10-11. I had a quick idea to maybe wake up early and try to finish my project for class, but then I thought, nahhh. That thought was really quick.
After, I met with my group to finish up the project of the beam and to figure out if the constraints and dimensioning would work for the beam design. We came up with answers and it was time to write the report on the graphing paper. I thought id be finished in about an hour and able to possibly go on a run or do some insanity. Instead, it took 4 rough hours and a lot of talking to the awesome, spunky Irish girls we worked with. They were really friendly and were taking this class as a sophomore where we had to as juniors. I also found out that they're engineering program is like a sorority kind of idea with boys and girls. They encourage them to stick together. They do trips together and buy things together to represent the engineering community.  I told them all about sororities and they were amazed. I agree,  I do kind of think its a joke. Especially to have to pay to be in it.
We finally finished around 3 and I walked home with Ana, my mechanical engineering girlfriend, so she could talk to her boy toy, which was my ta last semester. The twins got out of class around 3 and at 4 we went to the city, to kc peaches to get tea or coffee and try to plan some trips. We decided on Krakow in April and heard back from Amsterdam. I hope to do more but that was a great start and all the other times were hard because we either had mid terms or they were afraid because the have 5 Friday classes and don't want to miss.
We finished and walked around a little in the city. We bought some food and then went back around 730 to get ready to go to pregame at Thayne's at 830.  That quickly turned into 9. And then 930. I invited john, the shy kid from Alabama university but really not that shy. We drank some wine and as in we I mean they cause I don't drink. At least rarely. We played some games and then headed out to flannerys, the first bar I ever went to in Dublin my first night. It was good but I didn't really like the music...it was good music just more chill and hard to dance to. Liam said it was a touristy bar and wanted to find his friends that wanted to go to a rave. First, though there were Irish guys hitting on me and they had some good questions.  Sponge bob or family guy?  Simpson's or family guy? Spongebob or fairly odd parents?
We made our way to twisted pepper which was supposedly a club. There were 8 of us and 4 were determined to go to McDonald's and left. While me, the twins and john were with Liam to decide if we wanted to go. The twins didn't want to which I agreed with because it was 2 in the morning but i kinda wanted to go since I was out but I didn't have any euros and didn't want to be the only one paying for a cab and didn't want to be the only one stuck with Liam. Especially, because he told me at the rave most people take yips, ill let you figure out what that is on your own.
We decided to go to McDonald's and look for them but they weren't there. They went to a different one. Instead, we stayed and chilled and talked until we decided what to do which was get a cab. It was 230 at this point and I was ready and Liam kept calling me and I felt bad, more for myself, that I wasn't going so I wanted just to end the night. I did, for the first time talk to Adam via Viber. Made my night so much better and I was happy to hear from him :) passed out around  3 determined to wake up and work out.
Feb 1

Woke up this morning around 10 and couldn't go back to bed. wanted food, didn't know what the plan was except maybe the game at 5. I thought it was the cuse game but nope. So, no working out. I had to send some emails, blog, and had some homework. Where did the time go? I took some cereal from the other girls and one of them walked in, so I told her that it was open and fell all over...which it did. Pretty awkward.
Anyways, I grabbed something to eat and continued to watch a show and do some work. At 3, I got a message from Thayne that we were going to watch Gaelic football and hurling games. Dublin versus whoever. The hurling game were the 2 teams for their "Superbowl" last year so it was a pretty serious game. We took 2 business target here and got good seats right on the field. At first it was empty but the stadium filled up by the second game. The people that sat down in front of us told us all about the game. I enjoyed it but I'm freezing.  I'm not prepared at all.
Tonight is the cuse game and they are all going to watch it at a pub. It starts at 1130 but honestly I don't want to go that bad and buses stop running at 1130 and I don't want to take a cab.  I contemplating if I should or will I be missing out. I have no idea. The super bowl is tomorrow too. Sometimes I just want to be in my warm bed. E will find out. Go Dublin!  Back to the game.
I will just paste what I messaged mommy to sum up my night. The Syracuse vs Duke game is about to be on if you or daddy want to watch. We went to watch Gaelic football and hurling today. Freaking freezing. Then to a bar to watch the game but I can't sit and watch the game which starts at 1130. And I just paid like 10 bucks for a salad...that just made me feel stupid.
Also, it was almost weird that it was like 5 of us girls, Brittany, Thayne, Kaylee, Jackie...Debbie downer, and me and we almost had nothing to talk about which was weird to me. Like absolutely no conversation. I don't know if it was because they were hungry, we were still trying to melt, or it just was not working out. Well, we got food, I really wanted the Mexican but then the waitress was like uh you should just get a salad so I did...that's annoying. Especially paying that much for a some pieces of lettuce. Then, we were waiting forever and asked a waiter if we could pay for our food and he was like I don't know what you guys ate but your waitress left so I will take care of it. And we were like wait whattttt OK I was going to tell him the wrong thing but he had a list of the food we had so I had to pay the 9 euro. But I asked for a tea and cancelled it right away because I didn't want to pay for hot water anymore. They still served it and I put it in a cup I brought and then they came to take it away so I still got my tea! Wooooooooo so that helped. Anyways, my stomach kinda hurts like motion sick and don't know why. But I'm finally headed home alone on the right bus and its now 1130 so the cuse game just started. I think I made the right decision because I would hate watching it right now. I don't like pubs and I don't like watching games and I had enough already. Home sweet home. Tomorrow, if its not raining, hopefully run and insanity and food shopping! I need that! And then perhaps city to do some homework and the super bowl. But I don't think I'm going to watch because its at like 1130 our time. Eeek.

PS I really have to pee so I might be farting haha

After I got off I went on the side of the road. gotta love Dublin
